Lifesharing is a federally designated nonprofit Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) within UC San Diego Health System that coordinates organ and tissue donation in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The Department works closely with hospitals and donor families to give hope to the more than 100,000 people on the transplant waiting list. Lifesharing staff work to find the best possible match for each organ and tissue donation. The Director of Tissue Operations reports directly to the Executive Director of the OPO, and has the responsibility for assessing and directing all clinical, administrative, quality and fiscal operations of the Lifesharing Tissue Bank.
