New England Donor Services (NEDS) coordinates organ and tissue donation in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, the eastern counties of Vermont and Bermuda. Responsible for one of the largest of the 57 Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, NEDS works with about 200 hospitals and serves 14 million people in our region, screening nearly 50,000 potential donor referrals annually. With approximately $90M in operating revenues, NEDS employs 250 clinical and non-clinical staff members throughout New England.

The Director, Quality Improvement is responsible for ensuring that data-driven performance management and quality improvement programs are aligned with the organization's overall strategy and Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Plan. The Director is responsible for the oversight of performance management and Quality Improvement (QI) within NEDS and works with leadership to establish goals, measures and opportunities for improvement that empowers staff to identify problems and encourages problem solving.

FOCUS AREAS/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Communicates and implements the strategic vision, scope and mission of performance improvement management.
• Sets direction for the QI program for NEDS through establishing partnerships and shared goals with internal and external stakeholders.
• Conducts monthly rounding meetings, ongoing performance feedback, goal setting and performance metrics, professional development and performance improvement plans.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to support organizational quality, safety, regulatory compliance, process and performance improvement initiatives.
• Standing member of the Performance Improvement Committee (PIC), Audit Committee, Quality Council, the Operational Management Group (OMG), and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Committee.
• Partners with Employee Learning & Advancement to review content of learning and training programs specific to project management.
