Responsible for providing 24/7 clinical knowledge and support to the screening and recovery of donor tissue for RTIS, participates on a call schedule to support clinical problem resolution.
Functions as key liaison with approved couriers, supply vendors, testing laboratories and communicates appropriately to all stakeholders.
Responsible for providing technical support with the development and revision of recovery procedures.
Ensures that all procedures accurately reflect current practices and meet required standards, is the primary document author in collaboration with various subject matter experts.
Supports departmental leadership with designing and delivering training materials and events.
Responsible for all aspects of RTIDS supply management including the decisions for price, quantity, and accessibility of supplies for contract agencies.
Direct onboarding for new recovery agencies and tissue types
Manages training to ensure appropriate and adequate training of all regulated and non-regulated activities related to the recovery of tissue.
Coordinates all research recovery projects for RTIS and approved external research organizations.
Continuously focuses on the development of operational effectiveness, collaboration with quality assurance, tissue receiving, donor quality assurance (DQA), Donor Screening, Biomedical Lab, and others as needed to further the interests of RTIS and RTIDS.
Analyzes/interprets statistical information and provides accurate up-to-date reports to recovery agencies and management; initiates actions and brings problem areas to final corrective resolution to optimize outcomes.
Ensures that shipment of tissue, samples, and supplies are performed in accordance with current standards designed to meet all regulatory requirements.
Participates in various assigned projects and works with both internal and external customers/stakeholders to maintain forward momentum and project completion.
Travel, 50% or more may be required and at the discretion of management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately)
Bachelor’s degree with management /supervisory experience with 5-8 years of experience in the tissue banking industry with a minimum of 3-5 years involved in a training capacity.
