POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Donor Quality Assurance position is responsible for the management of the Donor Quality Assurance department, its employees and the donor record review and medical release process. This individual is responsible for ensuring the timely review and release of all RTI tissue donor records in compliance with RTI policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Approaching this role with a focus on process improvement will be vital to ensuring the department’s ability to improve and succeed in its abilities and outcomes. This position must effectively interact on a regular basis with senior members of the recovery partners' management team as well as the RTI Medical Directors. Working collaboratively with VP and Director of Donor Services, the Director DQA works closely with recovery partners to manage metrics/KPI’s relating to the record release process and outcomes associated. Additionally, the Director must implement processes with a focus on engaging the recovery partners to ensure a positive customer experience and improved/continued client satisfaction. The Director will join cross-functional internal teams to assist in ensuring the timely and successful release of donor records needed by the operations division. This position will be critical to the success of the company in helping RTI Donor Services maximize the number of patients served while maintaining a high level of quality and patient safety. RESPONSIBILITIES - Appropriately prioritize workload and projects effectively and in a timely manner in accordance with organizational policies and procedures and in order to meet the needs of the larger RTI organization
- Build, train, develop, and retain a diverse, knowledgeable, and performance-oriented staff, delegating responsibility, while providing direction and leadership
- Work cross-functionally with multiple departments and individuals throughout RTI Surgical and Donor Services including but not limited to Quality Systems, Planning & analysis, Donor Services Account Management and RTI Medical Directors with a goal of creating efficiencies and maximizing outcomes of the chart release process
- Regularly review and update as needed all controlled documents, SOP’s, work instruction, job aids and training material for the DQA department
- Ensure the department is reviewing and releasing donor records in compliance with all regulatory requirements including but not limited to FDA, RTI, AATB, State of New York, State of Florida, German Health Authority
- Develop and implement processes to ensure donor records and the DQA department is always audit-ready
- In conjunction with the Vice President, develop and implement overall strategy for Donor Quality Assurance, while maintaining alignment with RTI Surgical business strategy to:
- Ensure Patient Safety is a top priority
- Release Donor records in a timely and effective manner
- Improve tissue recovery partner experience
- Achieve operating targets for RTI DQA department (number of charts released monthly by tissue type)
- Assess best practices in industry for improvement opportunities
- Collaborate with Donor Services to improve Agency chart release outcomes
- Improve RTI chart release metrics with a goal of becoming Best in Class tissue processor
- Stakeholder management
- Attend OPO business reviews (quarterly or monthly as needed)
- Ensure adequate supply of released tissue supply for operations department needs in order to meet Ops release plan
- Represent RTI at key conferences, OPO forums, Advisory boards etc.
- Involvement with AATB to stay abreast of industry trends
- Other duties as assigned
