Basic Function The Tissue Services Executive (title TBD) is responsible for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of tissue recovery, data management, customer service, and quality assurance issues in LifeGift’s tissue operations. This position provides leadership of the tissue recovery department and ensures that quality processes, training, and adherence to organizational and industry standards, along with federal regulations are intact. Manages and maintain labor costs for the tissue recovery department by establishing work schedules in compliance with meeting the tissue recovery objectives.

Manage and maintain labor costs for tissue recovery
May oversee the Communication Center for Donation department by establishing work schedules in compliance with meeting the tissue evaluations and recovery objectives
Provide expert clinical leadership to tissue recovery, and funeral home/coroner liaison staff
Be an expert resource in all topics related to evaluation of potential donor recovery, knowledge of similar tissue recovery organizations, AATB (American Association of Tissue Banks) standards and industry knowledge
Develop and implement strategic plans and budget for Tissue Operations
Central liaison between LifeGift and other organ procurement organizations, tissue banks, processors, medical examiners, justice of the peace and funeral homes to develop better communications and joint participation of suitability and recovery activities
Assist clinical operations with kidney perfusion and donor management services
Recruit, interview and select candidates for Tissue Services
Plan and conduct initial and continuing education as well as performance evaluations of all donor resource centers and tissue recovery personnel
Develop, implement, review and modify SOP’s for the Tiissue Recovery Program
Develop and implement a continuous quality improvement program for the Tissue Recovery Program
Create and manage work , on-call and overtime schedules
Analyze and report on all Tissue Recovery activity on a monthly and annual basis
Share administrative call for the Tissue Recovery Program

Must have an undergraduate degree in allied health or related field. (BSN or BS). Graduate degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MSN).
CTBS certification & surgical technology is a plus.
Ten years of experience in tissue recovery or tissue banking.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Must have a strong business background and exemplary people management skills.
Must possess solid analytical skills and be computer literate (proficient in spreadsheet applications).
Must think strategically yet still be detail-oriented.
Must have excellent public speaking skills, have a professional appearance and have superior written and verbal skills.
Must have strong negotiation, team building, decision-making, and project management skills.
Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of various software packages
Must be courteous and professional with others at all times
Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
C. Working Conditions
Normal office environment with occasional overtime
Will require work outside of normal business hours and periodic work away from the office.
Standard business hours including shared 24 hour on-call shifts including weekends and Holidays
Minimum overnight travel is required (up to 20%)
OSHA category II: Tasks that involve occasional exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
