I. Reporting Relationships The Director of Communication Center for Donation is directly responsible to the VP of Tissue Services and Communication Center Operations.
II. Basic Function LifeGift is seeking an experienced leader for our call center based in Houston. This individual will be responsible for delivery of effective processes for the medical and behavioral evaluation and authorization of potential tissue and eye donor and assure that screening services are handled appropriately, according to FDA, AATB, LifeGift and tissue processor criteria. This individual will report to the Vice President of Tissue Services and Communications Center Operations.
III. Essential Functions • Directly supervise the on-site and remote Communication Center for Donation staff. • Provide leadership, management and support to the Communication Center for Donation in day to day operations. • Collaborate with LifeGift organizational leaders and external partners to develop and implement strategies for growth. • Participate in budget development, implementation and management of departmental resources. • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, and termination of Communication Center for Donation Staff. • Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of the Communication Center for Donation staff. • Plan, implement, and supervise initial training as well as continuing education of all Communication Center for Donation staff. • Maintain comprehensive training records for all employees. • Assist the VP in the development, implementation, review, and modification of standard operating policies and procedures (SOP’s). • Assist the VP in the development and implementation of quality systems to include, but not limited to: monitoring of individual staff screening and authorization competencies, case documentation and customer service competencies. • Work together with the VP to develop, implement and monitor operating and capital budgets. • Conduct and administer fiscal operations for the department, including accounting, planning budgets, authorizing expenditures and coordinating financial reporting. • Review and approve all requests for reimbursement and monthly expenses. • Establish work schedules and on call schedules according to workload. • Analyze and report all Communication Center for Donation activity on a monthly and annual basis. • Demonstrates passion, compassion and professionalism at all times. • Makes best efforts on a daily basis to exhibit behaviors supporting strategic anchors of dual advocacy, expertise and fiscal strength. • Adhere to LifeGift’s Code of Conduct at all times. • Perform other duties as assigned. IV. Qualifications A. Skills/Aptitudes o Knowledgeable in the function of a Communication/Call Center. o Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Electronic Medical Records, and Timekeeping software o Display integrity, initiative, perseverance, flexibility, teamwork, empathy and persuasiveness. o Exceptional organizational, leadership, time management, and analytical skills. o Good communication skills with all employees, donor families, hospital staff and all other related LifeGift facilities. o Ability to apply learned clinical knowledge to the job. o Ability to coordinate and delegate projects.
Relocation will be provided if necessary.

IV. Qualifications Education/Experience o Bachelor Degree in Biology, Healthcare or Business Administration or equivalent experience. o Knowledge of FDA regulations and applicable industry medical standards preferred. o CTBS (Certified Tissue Banking Specialist) through the American Association of Tissue Banks required, or must be obtained within two years of employment. o Five to seven years of related experience and/or training in leadership development, project management, strategic planning, and leading large groups of staff. o Previous supervisory experience required.
