Responsibilities include supervising day-to-day operations of the Donor Services Center (DSC). Coordination with the supervisors to ensure 24/7 operation of the DSC. Comprehensive understanding for FDA, AATB, State Regulations and UMTBDSF SOP’s to ensure the DSC is able to fulfill the obligation to the community of providing safe tissue and honoring the gift of donation.
Duties and responsibilities
Reviews and monitors statistical data to ensure essential mechanisms are in place for the development of staff, improve efficiencies, decrease errors and increase donors.
Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, counsels and develops employees. Implements corrective action when needed. Responsible for the staffing of all activities assigned.
Ensures compliance to all required state and federal regulations.
Actively participates in the development of UMTB’s Emergency Preparedness/Disaster Planning for the Coordination Department to assure appropriate coverage and system back up.
Active participation in management and leadership meetings to ensure collaborative environment between the DSC and all other areas.
Works closely with donor partner & recovery organizations to ensure good working relationships and excellence in customer service.
Develop, implement and maintain donor family bereavement program to include speaker bureau/volunteer program.
Assist/volunteer with the design and implementation of any public relations campaigns and events.
Assists Director, Donor Services with any function necessary to maximize efficiency and productivity within the Donor Services Center.
Overnight travel required.
Call center and hospital environment with high level immediate/urgent decision making skills required daily.
High level decision making between other departments with the ability to handle stressful situations.
Ability to lift 20 lbs independently.
Intermittent sessions of sitting for hours at a time utilizing the computer and telephone system.
Meeting environments with multiple departments.
